Canadian Accountants

In almost all Canadian companies, the accountants are regarded to be the professionals that have the most influence on the business’ and financial aspect. They have met a set of qualifications and are in-charge of most financial activities in a business.

First of all, Canadian accountants have acquired the appropriate education by obtaining a degree in accounting. Most of them have CMA (Certified Management Accountant) or other official designations to certify their professions. In terms of computers and software, they have solid experience with spreadsheet, database, and word processing applications such as those provided by Microsoft and are proficient in accounting applications such as QuickBooks. Furthermore, Canadian accountants are experienced in preparing tax documents and in coordinating with tax authorities on behalf of the accountant’s clients. Regarding their working relations, they are able to act as a team player with the ability to deal with a changing environment. Lastly, they possess strong organizational and multi-tasking skills and are able to efficiently plan and prioritize to ensure the timely submission of deliverables.

With regard to their general activities, Canadian accountants prepare and evaluate checks, investment transactions, wire transfers, and other transactions significant to the general ledger within a given time-frame for their clients. They also evaluate updates on weekly cash account balance and ensure the sufficiency of funds for all client accounts. In addition, they record and assess journal entries for sales, purchases, mortgages, and other complex transactions. They also prepare and discuss to their clients the significance of balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Whenever required, they too help in the budgeting and other financial plans of their client's business. Finally, Canadian accountants establish communication and coordination with clients, as well as bankers, vendors, investors, and attorneys regarding major financial matters in the business.
